4/1/2023 0 Comments Xenoshyft rules clarifications![]() As I am writing this, Wil is in production of Tabletop’s fourth season, and is teasing pictures of the production on Instagram and Twitter. It is a day to celebrate all things tabletop and you can look for local events on the International Tabletop Day website. This year it will be held on Saturday, April 30th, 2016. Wil was also instrumental in creating International Tabletop Day along with the folks at Geek and Sundry. Each game has a different amount of chemistry among the players, but is always entertaining to watch. He draws from a wide variety of friends from movies, television, and internet fandom who are at a wide variety of gaming levels from newbies to extremely experienced gamers, to the designer of the game they are playing. Wil does an amazing job hosting the gaming endeavors, giving a brief overview to the games, but letting the graphics department explain the game as it’s being played so the videos are not bloated with rules explanations. The trash talking that goes on during the game, cursing someone after they screw up your plans, and in the end laughing and having a good time with people you enjoy spending time with. This show, better than any other that I have come across, captures the essence of a game session with a group of friends. This show awakened me of the depth and breadth of the tabletop games out there, and pushed me down a rabbit hole that I still feel like I am spinning down. But it also guided many of my next few purchases including: Elder Sign, Castle Panic, Smash Up, Lords of Waterdeep and Takenoko. I was able to see games I knew and loved like Small World, Munchkin, and Catan. It was fun to see a guy having fun with friends and family playing games. I quickly learned that there were a full two seasons with a third in production and gorged myself on board gaming awesomeness. I was looking for ways to discover new games and came across one of theIR episodes. I learned about the YouTube show TableTop a few years ago, just after they finished their campaign for their third season. In this “Thank You…” series, I will write an open letter to thank people who put creative ideas about board gaming online and those who have helped me in my search for new games and ideas! So I will dedicate some posts to putting some positive thoughts online. Just scroll through the comment section of a youtube video or subreddit, and it is pretty easy to see people taking shots at those who create things. I am not super keen on the legacy part as I just want a quick but deep game to play.It seems like there is a lot of negativity on the internet. ![]() This might make Everdell more replayable for us, not sure if it fits the requirements - Crank: legacy. Games I am thinking about: - Everdell Spirecrest. Other games we have/like: ruins of Arnak and expansion, castles of burgundy, great western trail, terraforming mars, Encore! (bit too simple) Just like Wingspan played this a lot and now we have seen it. Fun game, especially with Pantheon expansion. It doesnt get played much as it mostly turns into pick a few market cards and money and go for points from mid to endgame - 7 wonders duel. I love how you can pick it up and play, al though choosing which cards can be a small hassle. We always go for resources and some other stuff in first seasons, are build almost full at end of summer and go for purple buildings in autumn. I like the game but it mostly plays the same for us. But we played it too much/enough - Everdell. This is the game whom we play the most, replayability is great and the game plays well. Games I already have and which I think are similar to my wishes: - Wingspan, with Europe and Oceania. I would like to find a medium light 2 player game with a light focus on tactical and strategical process with high replayability which you can play in 30 minutes to a hour.

4/1/2023 0 Comments Sifu gameplayTying into that first tip is Structure, one of Sifu’s best gameplay mechanics. Plenty of mini and major bosses will weave low sweep attacks in with their regular combos, so stay alert and learn their patterns to ensure you’re avoiding in the right direction. The opposite applies to overhead attacks, which can be ducked under with L1 and down on the analog stick. ![]() Attacks that target your character’s lower body will require you to evade “upwards,” which is done by holding L1 and flicking the analog stick up. However, the mechanic isn’t without its depth. This is because avoiding grants a small invincibility window to your character, preventing them from taking damage while remaining right in your enemy’s face.Īvoiding is arguably your most powerful defensive tool, especially when you’re still getting used to the game. Swiping the analog stick in a direction while holding L1 will perform a quick evade which allows you to phase through most attacks. By holding L1, your character will enter the avoid stance. ![]() ![]() However, it’s equally easy to back yourself into a corner by doing this, or right into another enemy’s attack.Īvoiding, then, is an ideal halfway house between these two methods. Next up is dodging, which can create considerable distance between you and your opponents when you need a bit of breathing space. 4/1/2023 0 Comments Finish him![]() This one isn’t fair considering the discrepancy between the two roles. His first appearance in MK21 has him coddle a baby for cripes’ sake… yeah, Lambert easily wins this round. Asano more closely resembles his video game counterpart, but the character lacks a sinister side and, oddly enough, is far too empathetic, if that makes any sense. Is he a friend, foe, or just a bizarre French dude who can shoot sparks from his fingers?īy comparison, Tadanobu Asano’s Lord Raiden mostly sits and broods in a chair like he’s auditioning to play “Not Ras Al Ghul, Jr.” in the upcoming The Batman. Yet, his performance in MK95 is f*****g iconic.įrom his flowing white hair to his distracting accent and those spectacular wizard-like entrances accomplished via $10 special FX - keep in mind this movie came out two years after Jurassic Park - Lord Raiden in MK95 is mysterious enough to remain interesting and nutty enough to leave a lasting impression. MK21 Tadanobu AsanoĬhristopher Lambert may have never lived up to his potential as an action star and squandered much of his star power in cornball franchises like Highlander. RELATED: Jump Into PlayStation Now’s May Lineup With Jump Force, Nioh & More! Without further ado, behold the most epic battle you will ever, um, behold! MK1995 vs. ![]() I mean, for a game featuring (checks Google) 97 characters, you’d think the filmmakers would want to distinguish themselves from MK95 by introducing here-to-fore unseen heroes and villains.Īlas, this is not the case, which means I was stuck with an important question: which film portrayed its characters better? I was quite astonished at the similarities inherent in both flicks, particularly when it came to which characters the story focused on. However, after 2021’s Mortal Kombat, I felt obligated to go back to Paul Anderson’s cheesy 1995 classic Mortal Kombat to compare and contrast the two films. Indeed, no one goes to a flick like Mortal Kombat expecting a breathtaking plot or strong acting, for that matter. But who cares when “the chick gets her gut blown out, and you can see her spine,” as one of my friends so keenly pointed out via text message? My take? It’s an enjoyable action flick with a few decent fight scenes marred by some bad performances and dialogue. ![]() Mortal Kombat finally released in theaters and on HBO Max a few weeks ago, which means everyone and their mothers has watched the latest iteration of the popular video game and spent the last week either blasting it as the worst film ever made or one of cinema’s great masterpieces. |
